Yoga has nothing to do with how the pose looks from the outside, but it has everything to do with how it feels. The approach is the meaning of yoga – How you talk to yourself while approaching the pose, whether or not you are trying to force your body in to the posture. The approach is everything.
If you are gentle and kind to yourself, if you are mindful and wise and reflective, you will go toward the truth of yoga practice. My style of teaching is to have each student gain a sense of acceptance for where they are at in their bodies, and in their own personal yoga practice.
I am constantly working on my spiritual development, and have a huge well of personal experience from which to draw upon. My Approach to Teaching:
I teach a few different styles of yoga, as most teachers do. What makes me stand out as a teacher is that I pay close attention to how my students are receiving the class. If I notice that the class has pent up energy, I will offer poses to help them through it. If I notice the class is very tired, we will start off lying on our backs. I honour and respect where each student is at, and I do not encourage competition in my class.
Instead, I encourage my students to be in their own bodies, focused on their own mats, and I respect each person’s journey deeply. Read this article for more: Yoga is A Process
