There are times, in life, when you need to reach a point of acceptance, forgiveness, surrendering to What Is … and these are all valid ways to deal with the emotional ups and downs of life. But there are, occasionally, times in your life when you need to stand up, walk tall, claim your own space and be assertive. There are times in life when you need to be Fierce.
Definitions of the word “Fierce” range from one extreme to the other …

“Showing strong feeling or energetic activity” – Cambridge Dictionary
“Menacingly wild, savage, or hostile” – Dictionary.com
“A term that gay men used in the late 1990s and early 2000s to describe absolutely everything that was of “exceptional quality”. – Urban Dictionary
All of these descriptions of the word have the same tendency of labeling fierce as a word to be reckoned with. You aren’t messing around when you use this strong word.
Fierce Yoga is about taking a stand for what you really want in your life, and for who you are.
Fierce Yoga is the Effort, as opposed to the surrender.
Did you know? – You may be missing out on the greatest gifts that yoga has to offer.
When you’re spending time peeking at the other students in the room, you are robbing yourself of the gift of being present and aware in your own body. What does that mean? It means that if you are constantly trying to compete, outdo or even perform for others during your yoga class, you are doing it wrong.
Fierce yoga is when you’ve undergone intense personal healing in your life. Fierce yoga represents your readiness to Claim who you are and who you came here to be. And it is NOT for the faint of heart. It is compassion towards oneself before others.
Putting Yourself First is the most unselfish thing you can do.
Why is it important to put yourself before others? Contrary to what you may think, putting yourself first is the most unselfish thing you can do. When you take care of yourself first, you have more love, more joy and more energy to give to the people around you. THAT, my friends, is one of the great secrets in life.
